Business Angels and Deep Tech Teams – ESIL’s annual event

Europe produces world-class deep tech research, but too little of it reaches the market. The ESIL annual event on 5 June 2026 brings together the actors who can close that gap: angel investors, researcher-founders, and the policymakers shaping Europe's innovation instruments. Held immediately after the EIC Summit, the event addresses an operational reality that grant funding alone cannot solve - moving a deep tech venture from proof-of-concept to commercial traction requires smart capital, hands-on expertise, and funding pathways that actually connect across EU, national, and regional levels.

Objectives:

• Establishing protocols for advancing scientific results through validation, application, and market deployment.
• Defining investor contributions beyond financial capital – the impact of mentoring, operational experience, and network integration.
• Synchronising EU, national, and regional funding mechanisms to optimise the lab-to-market trajectory.
