Biography
Co-Founder & CTO of SpiNNcloud Systems GmbH
Matthias started working with Globalfoundries in semiconductor manufacturing and FMC on non-volatile memory. After earning his degree in electrical engineering from TU Dresden, he worked as a chip designer with Racyics in the ICT and automotive field, collaborating with global semiconductor leaders. In 2020, he joined Prof. Christian Mayr’s chair for highly-parallel VLSI systems, focusing on low-power AI chip designs using Globalfoundries Dresden’s 22FDX Technology. There he worked on the Human Brain Project that resulted in the SpiNNaker2 chip design and the sparse supercomputer SpiNNcloud. In 2021, Matthias co-founded SpiNNcloud Systems as CTO. Additionally, he is active as startup mentor for early-stage companies.
