Overview
- Description
Cold Pad is a French engineering R&D company, founded in 2011 that has developed a novel, non-intrusive adhesive bonding and fastening solution for construction and structural works. The Company researched and developed durable composite bonding & fastening solutions facilitating structural maintenance, retrofit and upgrade operations of complex industrial settings at a lower cost thanks to novel proprietary cold works techniques, or simply put strengthening structures without use of heat from welding, drilling, etc.
The technology is an enabler for the life extension of industrial and civil engineering structure, in particular in the energy sector, e.g. oil & gas marine platforms, nuclear power plants etc., explosive industrial environments where business interruption posed by the needed hot works (e.g. welding, drilling, riveting) is costly and entails high level of risks. The Company claims to have the oil & gas industry applications validated by existing customers and is now looking to expand to the nuclear infrastructures and potentially to commercial applications. The Company has managed to generate in aggregate c. EUR 10.4m in revenues since 2016 form pilot tests and co-development arrangements with partners. They are planning their first VC/PE capital raise of EUR 5m in 2023.
