Innovation Procurement Partnership Programme Call

The European Innovation Council is open for new collaborations with Public & Private Procurers of Innovation in Europe.

From March 2020 until June 2021, 7 initiatives have been organised through “EIC Procurers Days”and “EIC Multiprocurers Days” with participation of +100 public or private procurers partners like:

Over 60 EIC-funded startups/scaleups/SMEs and +200 procurers employees - +100 procuring organisation - high level representatives have been able to participate in these initiatives reporting a business impact of 20% follow-up discussions and almost 5% of business deals in less than 12 months, including pilots, proofs of concept and other business collaborations.

The satisfaction rate among procurers’ representatives has reached 86%, proving the efficiency of the concept: bridging the gap between innovative SMEs and large public & private procurers can prove to be a vital strategy for introducing innovations and reaching new clients.

What we offer is access to our portfolio of over 5500 highly innovative SMEs from all sectors and countries across Europe and to breakthrough technologies being developed in the most prominent labs in Europe. You could either get involved in the EIC Public & Private Procurers of Innovation Partnership programme or include your innovation challenge on our EIC Community challenge platform.

Public & Private Procurers taking part in the Innovation Partnership programme will also have the opportunity to

  • participate in matchmaking events tailored to their needs and meet with selected innovators
  • gaining access to possible innovation partnerships & EIC coaches

We are looking for Public & Private Procurers of Innovation with open innovation spirit, interested in integrating innovations coming from startups/SMEs and research projects directly into their business offering, procurement and R&D activities as well as investing in high innovative companies.

Criteria for the EIC Public & Private Procurers of Innovation Partnership Programme

In order to reach the highest impact for our innovative SMEs and innovators, the EIC looks specifically for:

  1. Largest Public & Private Procurers of Innovation in Europe  - cumulative criteria:
    • More than 500M EUR annual procurement budget
    • More than 1k employees worldwide
    • Presence in at least 1 EU27 Member States
    • Volunteer policy to work with European startups-scaleups/SMEs
  2. Focus on the EIC portfolio needs, with main topics on: Health, ICT, Energy and Transport, various public services, security & safety, green technologies.
