Founded in 2021, ION-X builds on decades of research into focused ion sources conducted at the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research). This pioneering research paved the way for the unique materials and processes that now form the core of ION-X’s technological advantage in electric propulsion.
Based at the Center of Nanoscience Expertise (C2N-CNRS) in Palaiseau, France – one of the world’s largest science hubs – their team leverages state-of-the-art research facilities to fulfil their bold mission: to develop the most efficient electric propulsion systems ever deployed in space.
