The European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund) is seeking experienced individuals to join the Boards of EIC Fund portfolio companies and contribute their expertise to the successful development and scaleup of the companies.
The EIC is a highly selective programme of the European Commission to support early-stage companies with high risk and high impact, with a focus on deep tech. Selected companies receive grant support of up to €2.5 million as well as equity investments of up to €15 million which are managed by the EIC Fund as an Alternative Investment Fund with the European Investment Bank as the sole investment adviser. The EIC Fund is endowed with a capital of over €3.5 billion and manage a portfolio of over 500 companies in the period up to 2027. The Fund plans to appoint voting members/non-exec directors to the Boards of a number of these companies.
Expertise and industry insights of successful candidates will be invaluable to portfolio companies, as they will help the companies achieve their ambitious growth goals in emerging areas of disruptive technologies and breakthrough solutions. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute and gain insights to the overall objectives of the EIC, as part of the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, as well as the broader European innovation agenda.
