On 27-29 July 2022, 20 of the most promising EIC- funded SMEs, startups and scale-ups with groundbreaking med-tech solutions, met in Miami, USA at Florida International Medical Exhibition (FIME) 2022. The leading healthcare tradeshow in the Americas brought together key international industry players and pioneering innovators, ensuring that attendees will gain knowledge and strengthen business ties with the global medical device and equipment market. In the welcome reception and business workshop organised by the European Innovation Council and the European-American Chamber of Commerce (EACC) Florida, the delegation of the European Pavilion interacted with regional business leaders and local authorities, focusing on European innovation, collaborative partnership and international entrepreneurship.

FIME 2022 attracted more than 12.650 visitors, as well as 700+ exhibitors from 45+ countries, delivering a platform to cutting-edge technology and the latest innovation designed to tackle the most pressing health challenges. Through thought-provoking sessions, interactive exhibit halls and numerous business partnerships, attendees connected directly with European leaders and innovators.

The European Pavilion hosted a diverse range of innovative products and emerging technologies, including digital wearable devices, patient monitoring apps, disposable products and telemedicine systems. The tailor-made workshop and reception organised by EIC and EACC Florida and hosted by Greenberg Traurig offered an overview of the healthcare industry in the region, the forms of US legal entity through which foreign businesses may transact business, compliance concerns, taxation and financial issues, as well as cultural differences of doing business in Europe and the United States.

The start-up competition featured 20 innovative early and middle stage start-ups from across the globe, pitching their revolutionary ideas and battling on stage across three days. The winner was picked by an esteemed panel of judges, including industry leaders, government officials and entrepreneurs.

Located at the heart of the FIME, the Healthcare Transformation Zone unveiled the latest insights, scientific discoveries and future predictions in the healthcare sector.
