The project is aimed at the development of a flight-ready (TRL 8) deorbit device based on electrodynamic tether technology. Unlike conventional technologies, electrodynamic tethers can provide in-orbit propulsion without propellant. The deorbit device will be in-orbit demonstrated in mid-2025. E.T.PACK-F’s consortium includes Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Coordinator), SENER Aeroespacial, TU Dresden, the University of Padova and Rocket Factory Augsburg. The consortium recently founded PERSEI SPACE, a new company for developing and commercializing tether products.
