Today at the EIC Summit, liana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth welcomed a new cohort of EIC Ambassadors. She said:
“The EIC is a great European success and needs to be known across Europe and beyond. The new Ambassadors have direct experience with the programme. I look forward to seeing them promote the EIC across the ecosystem and provide us with feedback on what we can do better.”
This new cohort counts 48 individuals - among them previous EIC board members, high-profile beneficiaries such as CEOs, and lead researchers of highly innovative companies and projects.
26 EIC Ambassadors from previous cohorts have extended their role to use their voice to continue promoting the EIC across the European and international innovation ecosystem. 22 new Ambassadors have joined the list of high-profile individuals to spread the word about the EIC and provide invaluable feedback to ensure its further improvements.
The composition of the EIC Ambassadors community is gender balanced with 27 males and 21 females, including also a broad representation of profiles relevant to the EIC, covering 30 countries.
Background information on EIC Ambassadors
Many highly influential innovators across Europe have been involved in the creation and implementation of the EIC. To recognise these contributions and empower these innovators to speak about their experiences with the programme, they are appointed as EIC Ambassadors. The role of EIC Ambassadors is voluntary. They speak about the EIC at relevant events and communicate about the latest developments and impacts of the EIC with local, national and European media. Their role is also to provide insights and feedback to support further improvements to the EIC.
