  • Sustainability analysis as an enabling tool for deep tech innovation

    Workshop room 1

Sustainability analysis is a way to combine the three dimensions of economic, environmental and social impact of technologies and products. Such an analysis may soon become a pre-requisite to both design and commercialize products. This workshop is aimed at showing why this is happening and how companies and scientists may implement it. This will be done through sharing experiences from different EU ecosystem of innovation stakeholders and discussing with them in a Q&A session.

  • Regulatory Sandboxes – how do they work and first practical experiences.

    Workshop room 2

Innovators are often challenged when aligning their unique solutions with relevant laws and policies. This is when regulatory sandboxes come into play. Set up as temporary experiments, regulatory sandboxes test innovations in a controlled real-world environment under the supervision of a competent authority. While their use is still limited, regulatory sandboxes have already helped innovators and their novel ideas in various sectors and countries. In this session, we will show you how this tool can support innovators in their journey towards easier market uptake.
