The company is developing a new generation of high-performance chips (AI accelerators) designed for edge computing, i.e., allowing to deploy deep neural network models in the devices at the edge of the network. The key underlying innovation is the proprietary digital in-memory computing technology (D-IMC), a novel architecture allowing to optimize the chip design and achieve: (i) higher throughput (more computations), (ii) lower power consumption (less data transfers), (iii) lower cost (smaller footprint, merging memory / processing units). Axelera’s solution focuses on computer vision applications (allowing to accelerate AI applications such as image classification or object detection).
