Overview
- Description
Creapaper introduces a highly innovative, sustainable, and cost-efficient alternative raw material for the European paper industry. By introducing grassfibres, produced by a novel patented mechanical process, it creates a new resource for the paper industry which is compatible with standard production equipment.
Grasspaper products are free of noxious substances, printable, and have a distinctive sustainable, yet premium appearance. Their production saves up to 75% of CO2 emissions. They are therefore a very interesting solution for packaging and replacing single-use plastics. While Creapaper's customers are paper mills, also brand owners and retailers are addressed with their own designs and mock-ups in order to increase the demand for the product. With the first production centre set up, the company pioneers in establishing grassfibre as the third most important raw material in the paper industry. Modifications and optimization of paper conversion machines are meant to allow a higher cost-efficiency of massive production of grassfibre-based products.
The next stage in the firm's commercialisation strategy will allow for transitioning the business model from grassfibre and grasspaper towards grasspaper products and finally to substitute single-use plastics like straws, cups, and bags.
