EIC Global Business Expansion Programme

Rooted in Europe. Scaling worldwide.

About

When venturing into new markets and aiming for global expansion, EIC awardees often encounter numerous obstacles that hinder the growth of their businesses in unfamiliar territories. Beyond identifying suitable opportunities and partners, they must also understand the local cultures, regulations, and business landscapes. There is where the EIC Global Business Expansion Programme comes into play.

Based on the learnings of the pilot EIC Soft-landing programme / EIC Immersive Programme (2023-2025), the newly established EIC Global Business Expansion Programme is designed for improving the services provided to EIC-backed innovators, that have already gained traction abroad and aspire to penetrate new markets without overextending their resources upfront. This approach allows companies to maintain their focus on core domestic operations while exploring international opportunities.

Open call – Make your innovation go global with the EIC: Silicon Valley and Singapore

Deadline for Application: 26 June

Selection criteria

This open call is exclusively for EIC-backed start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs. Applicants are assessed across two equally weighted stages: a written application and a pitch call.

The written application evaluates four areas: product and technology maturity, financial performance and market traction, team and expansion capacity, and market rationale as well as expected impact. A pitch deck (PDF, in English) is mandatory for submission. Optional supporting documents include a product brochure or one-pager and an IP protection summary.

The pitch call (a 5-minute pitch followed by Q&A and panel discussion) assesses market understanding, go-to-market readiness and the resources behind it.
