Project name: CorPack led by CorPower Ocean
EU Contribution: € 17 500 000
Location: Sweden

CorPacks are building blocks that are laid out side-by-side to form utility-scale wave farms (100s of MW to GWscale). The blended support from the EIC supports CorPower to standardize its core WEC technology so it can scale up into wave farms and to develop the engineering package of the CorPack product. The EIC helps CPO in becoming a turnkey supplier of wave energy systems, reach FID of first wave farm projects, and support the target of installing 600MW of clean wave energy by 2032.
Vision & ImpactCorPack showcases a path to commercial wave energy by deploying grid-connected WECs and certifying their bankability. It builds understanding of long-term performance, improves design robustness, and de-risks future large-scale wave farms, positioning wave power within Europe’s clean energy mix.
CollaborationEIC support has enabled CorPower Ocean to validate its technology’s commercial potential, attract strategic investors, and strengthen manufacturing and deployment capabilities. This reinforcement accelerates progress from demonstration (HiWave-5) toward market-ready wave energy farms across Europe.
What's next ?Following the success of HiWave-5 and completion of CorPack, CorPower Ocean will scale to pilot arrays and pre-commercial wave farms. EU Innovation Fund-backed projects, including VianaWave, will use demonstrator data to deploy a 15 MW wave farm off northern Portugal, reducing cost and risk.

Significant funding from the EIC Accelerator and other EU programmes has validated the groundbreaking work we are doing. With this support, we can accelerate the scaling and industrialisation of our wave energy solutions, helping bring reliable ocean energy to market and contributing to a sustainable, resilient energy system.
