Biography

EIC Programme Manager for Space

Frédéric Voulouzan is a deep-tech innovation leader working at the intersection of space systems, strategic innovation and emerging applications. With more than 30 years of experience in the European space industry, he has contributed to advanced capabilities spanning Earth Observation, ISR, satellite communications, launch systems, in-orbit services, and the surveillance, security and protection of space assets.

At Airbus Defence and Space, he has led innovation initiatives from early ideation to implementation, supporting the creation of new services and products while helping shape future space capabilities.

Throughout his career, Frédéric has worked at the interface between industry, research organisations, startups and public institutions. He has coordinated strategic partnerships, contributed to major European defence and space projects, including European Defence Fund collaborations, and helped shape investment and R&D roadmaps.

Alongside his industrial activities, he has served for several years as Expert Evaluator for the European Commission on EIC and EDF programmes, assessing breakthrough technologies and deep-tech ventures across both civil and defence domains.

He is motivated by enabling Europe’s next generation of deep-tech champions in the space sector at a time of profound technological, commercial and geopolitical transformation. His ambition is to accelerate the transition from breakthrough research to globally competitive European deep-tech companies and transformative innovations.
