ORBIS enables the industrial deployment of a compact, sulfate-free battery recycling technology specifically designed for the European context. By reducing land, energy and chemical intensity, the process overcomes the main barriers of conventional recycling in Europe, while enabling local recovery of strategic battery metals and supporting EU industrial and environmental objectives, and the strengthening of European autonomy in critical raw material supply.

CollaborationSince receiving the Seal of Excellence in 2023, the company have benefited from Business Acceleration Services, notably as a member of the EIC Scaling Club since 2024, (coaching, networking and 1‑to‑1 meetings), and looks forward to welcoming the EIC Fund as a capital partner.
What's next ?As part of its industrialisation path, Mecaware will move from pilot operations to the deployment of a first industrial recycling unit by 2030 in the European Battery Valley. This site will structure a territorially embedded model, enabling replication of battery recycling facilities across Europe.
