Europe is struggling with a noise pollution problem affecting people’s health, well-being and productivity. Traditional acoustic materials are heavy, bulky and lack technological innovation. Ireland-based Lios has developed SoundBounce, an advanced material poised to disrupt the acoustics market. This breakthrough invention delivers exceptional performance compared to conventional materials – it is four times thinner, 40 % lighter, and offers four times the noise reduction. Beyond superior acoustic attenuation, SoundBounce reduces CO2 emissions by up to 80 %, offering a cleaner, greener solution across the construction, automotive, aerospace and consumer product industries. Through the EIC-funded MUSE project, pilot production and predictive modelling will accelerate market adoption, driven by changing regulations and consumer needs. SoundBounce is ready to revolutionise how we tackle noise pollution.
