Mali M Baum

Mali is a key force shaping the future of female founders and driving opportunities in the startup and innovation ecosystem. As an impact investor, she focuses on EU technology and diverse teams, supporting ventures from pre-seed to scale-up and exit, with the mission: to build success stories and elevate the tech ecosystem in Germany and Europe.

Mali brings over 20 years of entrepreneurial expertise, having founded multiple successful ventures. As a seasoned serial entrepreneur, Mali launched her first venture in 2007, specializing in global educational toys ( industry 2.0). With R&D and manufacturing operations in Asia, her company distributed products across the USA, EU, Asia, and Australia. The products gained awards for their design and innovation.

Mali is an awards winner serial entrepreneur, impact investor, Business influencer and ecosystem builder, A key person in shaping Female Founders Future and opportunities at the startup ecosystem in Berlin/ Germany, Europe with already global impact, founded one of the biggest and the most significant business network, WLOUNGE, for startups, innovators,VCs, corporate open innovation, CVCs, supporting Female founders and diverse teams. Raising an investment arm with the motto of 'Build Community and Invest In It', impact technology, ESG-focused to invest in European technology, raising success stories and uplifting the local tech ecosystem with local roots and global reach’.

In 2024, Mali was elected as a Board Member of the European Innovation Council (EIC), European Commission, the EIC Fund. Since 2019, she has been an active expert and jury member, supporting the EIC Green Deal. She also serves as an ambassador for the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises for Startup AsiaBerlin (SUAB). A regular speaker at industry conferences, Mali is also a mentor and jury member for leading startup competitions and active member at investment committees.

She is an Instrumental part for the tech industry connecting together for economic growth and success stories made in Europe, lecturing in several universities focusing on international business, diversity, growth and Tech excellency, her 20 years global career is bringing many business opportunities to the EU economy from the USA, Asia, TLV and other regions to EU. Mali actively engages in government initiatives, bringing public and private sectors together. Contributing to economic growth and supporting the innovation ecosystem, Corporate’s M&A and VCs.

Within the WLOUNGE ecosystem, Mali has cultivated numerous success stories, ranging from startup exits and scale-ups to fostering innovation within industry leaders. She has also championed transparency by mapping the entrepreneurial ecosystem and nurturing future leaders. Mali's active engagement in politics aims to drive social and economic impact by bridging the private and public sectors for collaborative progress. Mali is the visionary behind the Tech Awards Gala initiative, recognized as the German Tech 'Oscar', which fuels economic growth through strategic community partnerships, Raised with WLOUNGE the Tech Awards #WTA with partners, Corporates, CVCs, VCs, Startups and government (public and private sectors) collaboration for highlighting the talents behind the startups, promote diversity and investments.  

Since 2021, the creation of the WLOUNGE DARE LEADERSHIP (WDL) program, providing educational resources and highlevel networking to address inequalities by empowering women with skills, access to capital, networks, and mentorship. The WDL has become a partner with the European Commission's EIC European Women Leadership program, Corporates and institutions, aimed at reshaping innovation, technology, startups, venture capital, and corporate sectors across Europe. Promote the local tech in EU and Germany ecosystem globally and locally and push for more women in influential positions in corporations, investment and startups.

2022, Mali launched the Female Angel Accelerator, empowering women to enter and invest in ventures, driving gender diversity in entrepreneurship and investment. Under her leadership, over €400 million has been invested through community partners, members, and networks. She focuses on impact investments, the social and sustainable economy, and advancing female entrepreneurship and investing. A key force in breaking barriers, Mali actively opens doors for female investors, founders, and diverse teams.

Mali is an award-winning serial entrepreneur and winner of the Global Hero category at the Female Leader Award 2020. As a business angel, active board member, and VC advisor, she brings savvy investment expertise to startups and funds alike. A key architect of the tech ecosystem in Germany, Europe, and beyond, she plays a pivotal role in bridging global networks—connecting startups, VCs, foundations, family offices, governments, and corporations across EU markets, Tel Aviv, New York, Silicon Valley, and Asia.
