The project aims to be a pioneer in learning from plants to create a disruptive paradigm of movement in robotics and information and communication technologies. Specifically, it will research similar to the moving-by-growing plant abilities – anchoring, negotiating voids and generally climbing – to replace wheels, legs or rails in robots with climbing ones to avoid getting stuck or falling. Translation of such functions into manufacturing processes inside the robots will foster European innovation in high-tech ecosystems.
